Reducing Stress With Exercise

Do you feel fatigued during the day? Do your limbs feel unusually heavy? Is it as struggle to even get out of your seat? You could be suffering from the effects of physical inactivity. A lack of exercise leads directly to an increase in fatigue, which makes it harder to the things that you need to do done. In turn, that leaves you with less time to decompress from your stressful day. Over time, it leads to an accumulation of stress that can have significant health consequences.

You don't need to get that much exercise in order to reduce your stress. As long as you're exercising vigorously, you're doing something to improve your health. If you don't, fatigue will set in and you'll likely gain weight. Many people develop bad exercise habits when they're young and their metabolism can keep weight off of them. This doesn't last into middle age, when the metabolism begins to slow down significantly and people need to either reduce their intake of food or exercise more in order to keep their weight at a healthy level.

In an added benefit, looking healthier will also make you a more attractive employee. Employers like to have employees that take care of themselves. Health issues harm the bottom line of a company, and they're not likely to put someone who has entirely controllable health issues into a position of significant responsibility. There's just too much riding on a critical individual for them to have their career sidelined by health problems. Keep yourself in good shape and you'll be a better candidate for promotion.
